ARGHH!!!!
Spring in New Hampshire.
We just spent 2 weeks going through melting snow, mud, dirty snowbanks, more mud, ice dams, oh & then some more mud & now it looks like Christmas!
Well, looks like spring will be delayed a bit longer here in NH.
We have a winter storm watch til Thursday morning.
Sleet, freezing rain & snow are on the way....lovely.
I planned to head out early for an indoor antique flea market tomorrow but may just stay in, have another cup of coffee & watch Guiding Light at 9
This pic (of me & my three dogs) was taken when the local newspaper here in New Hampshire did a story about how online friends & I helped in the rescue (via phone & internet) of the dogs of another online friend. My daughter in law had contacted the newspaper figuring they might be interested in the story.
The dogs' owner was taken to the hospital several days before Hurrican Rita hit Texas, & was evacuated to a hospital in Houston. His dogs were left behind, home alone. The entire area was of course evacuated & hit pretty hard.
Somehow by determination & lots of luck my calls & inquiries to the shelters down in Texas brought good news. When I got a call back that the dogs I had been searching for (for days) may have been found it was totally amazing! And wonderful! They had survived the hurricane, & animal rescue had found them all, ok, in the damaged house. Remarkable considering the hundreds of pets that had been brought in during that time.
Lone Star Rescue out of Houston was able to retrieve these dogs & house them for several weeks until my online friend was able to go back home. (thank you Teresa!)
